WELCOME TO ARCHE!!

If you are looking for a Christian homeschool cooperative in the St. Louis County/ Jefferson County region, then you have come to the right place! Our families work together to provide Christ-focused educational enrichment opportunities to one another in the form of weekly classes (two semesters per year), parties, field trips, social groups, musical theater and so much more! Our classes are held on Thursdays at Concord Church. Have a look around and feel free to contact us if you have questions! You can find us on Facebook or email us [email protected]

ARCHE Musical Theater presents...

Audition Information

Disney's Beauty and The Beast Jr.

Students ages 10-18 are welcome to join Musical Theater. ARCHE Membership is required.

Ensemble Auditions: 8/26/22 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Ensemble auditions are perfect for students who are not interested in a larger role. Lines and vocal solo lines are available to Ensemble Cast Members but are not required. Students will be able to indicate their comfort level at the auditions. *

Principal Auditions: 8/26/22 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Principal auditions are for students interested in a larger role; multiple lines, vocal solo lines, and/or full vocal solo songs. *

*All auditioners will be asked to learn a short choreography routine.

Where: The Music Suite at Concord Baptist Church (13775 Tesson Ferry Rd. St. Louis, 63128).

Students are asked to bring sheet music (with the written piano accompaniment) and be prepared to sing 16-32 measures of a song (preferably not from the show). It is acceptable to choose not to bring music and instead sing, “Happy Birthday”; however, this is not recommended for those interested in a Principal Role. Students may also be asked to read from the script with other auditioners and the directors. Students can be dropped off and picked up (parents are welcome to stay but do not have to stay. The audition room should be quiet from spectators, so please consider leaving younger siblings at home.)

Class Fee(s) are due PRIOR to auditions. Payments can be made via PayPal to Shari Pinkel ([email protected]), Cash, or Check. Once payment is received, a link to the vocal guides will be emailed, and arrangements can be made for script pickup. This allows the students to have plenty of time to become familiar with the material and feel prepared for auditions.

Class Fee: $100 per student non-refundable (This fee covers both Fall and Spring semesters).

Please Note: Your student must be available for all three performances, attend all rehearsals (we understand vacations & illnesses, of course), and be available for Tech Week and Set Strike.

Performance Dates: Thursday, Friday, & Saturday, March 16-17-18, 2023 (Saturday is a matinee).

Tech Week is the week of March 13th. Students will be required to attend Tech Rehearsals on the 13th and 14th and be at an extended rehearsal on the 16th. This is when we set lights & sound.

Set Strike is after the show on March 18th. This is an “all hands-on deck” situation. Students (and parents, too!) are asked to stay after the matinee performance to help prepare Concord Church for their Sunday services. Many hands make light work!

FAQs

When and where are classes held?

Classes happen every Thursday at Concord Church during the fall and spring semester, from 9am-noon and musical theater is from 1pm-3pm.

What classes are offered?

There are many different learning opportunities offered by parents for a minimal cost (generally the supplies needed for the workshop). ARCHE occasionally offers core science classes and classes taught by professionals; these generally cost more. Classes vary each semester depending on what the parent-teachers decide to offer.

If I decide to teach a class, how do I decide what to teach?

We ask that each family spend at least one semester at ARCHE actively participating in classes.  Classes are unique by design, and having a new teacher unfamilar with the structure of ARCHE can be difficult.  Once that semester is over, the class coordinator will send out an email requesting class submissions.  At this point you would fill out the form, making decisions about what to offer, when you can offer it, how much to charge, etc.  All classes are subject to board approval.
