Greater Johnson County Texas Area Homeschool Resources

We love our GCE family, and some of our members also choose to participate in other groups.  We also understand that some families may fit better into other groups.  Our mission is to assist and serve homeschool families in and around Johnson County, so this page is to help you find additional resources that GCE may not offer, or you may want to add in addition to what you find with us.  We believe that the homeschool community should work together to benefit all of our futures.

Other groups and organizations serving the Homeschool Community in and around Johnson County include, but are not limited to:

  • Burleson Area Homeschool Community - Group on Facebook for finding local events & activites

  • Christian Homeschool And Recreational Activities (CHARA) - a gospel focused co-op/enrichment program for homeschool families, a place where like minded believers could gather together in a safe environment to build community. Located in Waxahachie (Ellis Co).

  • Cleburne Home Educators - Group on Facebook for finding local events & activities

  • Ellis County Christian Homeschool Organization (ECCHO) - is a multi-denominational Christian support group for homeschooling families in and around Ellis County, Texas. Typically offering enrichment classes (for K-12th grades), sports and fine arts programs, Mom's Night Out, special fall and spring events, and a variety of field trips and community activities. 

  • Grace Christian Educators - Is an exclusively Christian co-op for homeschool families in Johnson County and surrounding areas, offering classes, parties & field trips, teen events, mom's night, and spring graduation.

  • Hoblitzelle Connect Homeschool Days - Camp Hoblitzelle Connect Homeschool Days, in Midlothian, is Christ-centered programing focused on Outdoor experiences, Nurturing relationships, Networking for the future, Educational opportunities that encourage Creativity & Teamwork. They offer equesterian, Biblical experiences, archery, musical theater and more.

  • Homegrown 4-H Group - Facebook Page -  A homeschool 4-H club where families learn, serve, and grow together through head, heart, hands, and health.

  • Johnson County Sports Association - JCSA Lions - Facebook - Offering Football, Cheer, Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Track & Cross Country

  • T.E.A.C.H. Cleburne - A university-style school, offering 'a la carte classes for PreK4-12th grade students who are homeschooled in Johnson County, Texas, and surrounding areas.

  • Texas Academy of Faith & Arts (TAFA) - Offers fine arts (worship, theater, art, dance, instruments, choir) as well as college prep courses such as English, Math, Science, and Electives. Located in Arlington.

  • Texas Christian Home Educators - Offers classes for pre-K through high school, co-op style (run entirely by volunteers), and usually have a selection of science, art, and electives at all levels plus high school core classes.  Meeting in Burleson.
