Handbook Addendum

To be added to the handbook during the next edit.

  • Add to General Guidelines

    • Snacks and Food during Co-Op

      • Snacks will be offered one time during the 2nd period for Nursery-Scholars kids.

      • For all others, no food is allowed during co-op.

        • This excludes classes that are specifically designed around food

        • If you would like to include food as a part of your class or lesson, please double check with leadership at least one week in advance.

      • We will not be providing coffee or tea but you are welcome to bring your own.

      • Water bottles are highly encouraged for children.

      • Lunch outside at the park behind the church is still okay.

  • Add to the sick policy:

    • Edit the first bullet point to say: We all love co-op, but please stay home if you or your child are experiencing any of the following within 24 hours before co-op:

    • Sore throats and strep.

      • If someone in your house has a sore throat that is not just allergies or has been diagnosed with strep please stay home.

      • You may return to co-op when you have been given the all-clear from a medical professional or pain free for 24 hours.

  • Hygiene

    • Due to many complaints in previous years and an increased awareness because of COVID, we are requesting that all families be aware of personal hygiene. We understand that hygiene is different for each family, but we are trying to be more conscious as a co-op.

      • Please have conversations with your children about general hygiene including:

        • blowing their nose into tissues, instead of wiping it on their arm or sleeve, and then washing hands or using hand sanitizer

        • coughing and sneezing into their elbow or tissue

        • giving their friends personal space and not sitting too close

        • not sharing personal items including supplies brought from home or water bottles

        • cleaning up messes after themselves

        • helping the teacher clean the classroom at the end of every class

      • This is not directed at any specific member, but to help the whole co-op be more diligent we are requesting that each family does the following:

        • taking showers and/or baths the night before or morning of co-op.

        • brushing hair and teeth

        • washing hands

        • wearing deodorant if your child is of deodorant wearing age

          • If your child is of deodorant wearing age and in PE or other active class, please have them put deodorant in their backpack so they can re-apply if needed.

      • In the event that you are concerned about someone’s hygiene, please talk to someone on the board. We will address it as needed.
