We are a non-profit, Christian support group established for homeschooling parents in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. We have been in existence for over 30 years and our purpose is to provide support, guidance, and encouragement to one another based on Christian principles. 

We offer a variety of social and enrichment opportunities for members, including field trips, holiday parties, dances, clubs, family events, and more. 

Please note, LCHEA is a homeschool support group only and it does not give you legal homeschooling status in the state of South Carolina. We are not an option 3 accountability group.

If you would like to join LCHEA we’d love to have you! Our regular rate membership fee is $60. Late rate registration is $80 beginning October 1st. Underclassmen photos were taken for LCHEA members. These headshots will go in the yearbook. If you are a member who missed the kickoff please check out the website yearbook page for information on how to schedule a makeup photo. Go to MAIN MENU > YEARBOOK.

The fitness club is open to LCHEA members of any age or grade, and parents are welcomed (encouraged, really) to join in! There is no cost to participate. This club will meet weekly to workout together and play different team sports. Members: for more information go to MAIN MENU > CLUBS > FITNESS CLUB. Non-members can email director.lchea@gmail.com with any questions. 

The yearbook team is open to LCHEA members in 7th-12th grade. There is no cost to participate. Photographers are needed to capture and submit event photographs; design team members are needed to create the pages that will make up the yearbook. Student Council is open to LCHEA members in 8th-12th grade. Dues are $10 and a student council t-shirt is required. Students must be able to attend regular meetings, which will be held on the 1st Tuesday of the month (unless otherwise notified). NHHS is open to LCHEA members in 9th-12th grade who meet certain GPA standards and testing requirements. Membership fees are $60 for new members. We’re so excited to be having this year’s Jr/Sr Prom at the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant. It will be held on March 26, 2026. Prom is open to LCHEA juniors and seniors and their guests (age restrictions apply to all guests). More information will be posted on the event calendar soon!

We have several field trips planned and on the calendar already, with more in the works! Field trips are generally open to members of any age, although some may have age restrictions. We will be having monthly nerf battles once again! These are open to LCHEA members of any age and free to attend, but you must bring your own gun and eye protection (required). Dart style ammo will be provided, so make sure you’re bringing a compatible gun. Scroll through the event calendar for more details and to register.
