Q:

Does this co-op espouse any one specific religious or world view?

A:

No we do not. We believe in quality education for everyone and wish to take the best from all our fellow homeschool families have to offer. We want this co-op to be a place of community and belonging where everyone feels safe, seen, and heard. We put a strong emphasis on kindness and respect for all people no matter our differences and choose to build on the things we have in common and learn from one another.

Q:

Does it cost to participate?

A:

ConnectED is a tuition-based co-op where families pay by class to attend. There are three things we all look for in outside programming; convenience, quality, and low cost. Nothing can offer all three of these. We choose to focus on quality and convenience and only charge what we have to run. As we are a 501(c)(3) (official non-profit status) our aim is not to make money but rather to use the funds we collect to best service our families. Please see our Tuition page for more information.

Q:

Does a parent have to volunteer?

A:

Parents do not have to volunteer. ConnectEd was created to be a drop-off\pick-up program for the convenience of our families.  We do have volunteer positions available for those parents who are available to help.  We need volunteers for monitoring the students in the study hall on the day of co-op.  If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please send an email to director@connectedco-op.com

Q:

Do you accept funds through My Tech High, HarmonyEd, or other similar programs?

A:

Yes. We are approved 3rd party vendors for My Tech High, Harmony ED, and Leadership Academy of Utah (LAU). For information specific to each of these vendors please see our tuition page here. (Please note that LAU does NOT pay for core classes so English, math, and science classes will not be able to be paid for by them.)

Q:

Do you offer core classes or support?

A:

We have a variety of elective and core classes, you can see our 2023/2024 class schedule here

Q:

Can I come with my younger children and stay during my older kids?

A:

Yes! One of the reasons ConnectED was created was to foster community and belonging among local homeschool families. We will have a study hall area where parents can visit with each other, homeschool younger children, or where enrolled students can study or socialize during free periods.

Q:

Is ConnectED affiliated with any state charters?

A:

No, we are not. We are a private entity that does not affiliate with any state programs. This allows us to focus on what we (the families) feel is best for our students and makes it so we do not have to comply with any state testing or regulations.

Q:

Can my child with disabilities attend?

A:

We accept students of all ability levels and no one will ever be turned away based on disability. Depending on how much help your student needs to successfully participate in class, we may ask you to stay. Please reach out to our director to discuss your student’s specific needs so we can make a plan as to how to best support you.

Q:

Who are your teachers, do you pay your teachers, and how can I apply to teach?

A:

Our teachers vary from professionals in the community that are experts in their field to fellow homeschool moms with years and years of experience teaching these subjects. We strongly believe that certifications or licenses aren’t what make qualified teachers. Passion, knowledge, and a love of students and learning make the best teachers! We pay our teachers for their time in class.

If you are interested in teaching please send an email to director@connectedco-op.com.

Q:

Where is this located?

A:

Tuesdays: F5 Athletics in Syracuse for PE classes in the morning

Thursdays: Rosewood Lane Church of the Nazarene in Layton for the full school day.
