Homeschooling and Math
A common concern among many homeschooling parents is on the topic of teaching math. Have YOU ever asked yourself these questions:
* What level should my student be at?
* How can I best demonstrate this concept?
* Why did my learner seem to forget what he learned?
* What do I do when they get to high school?
Join our meeting facilitators Alicia Billingsley and Cindy Floyd for an engaging discussion on this topic.
Meet Our Facilitators
Alicia taught special education students math in the public school for seven years, and she has been homeschooling for 4 years. She will share some ideas for helping your math students through using their strengths and learning styles. She will also discuss using manipulatives in all grades and making math fun through games and resources.
Cindy is a veteran homeschool mom of 17 years and has graduated 2 students. She will share from her personal experience of teaching math and the variety of options she has used over the years.
Both will share informally at the beginning of the evening and then allow the majority of the time for specific questions and encouragement. Come join in the discussion as we support one another homeschooling math!
