CHESS is hosting a Homeschool-to-College Seminar! Here are the details:

Homeschool-to-College Seminar
Friday, February 27th
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Centreville Baptist Church
15100 Lee Highway, Centreville Va.
Fellowship Hall (door #5 entrance)

The guest speaker is Phylicia Masonheimer of Liberty University. As a homeschool graduate, Phylicia felt she received very little information about how to create a plan for college that allowed her to complete her degree while also gaining job experience and graduating with minimal debt (if any at all). When she became an admissions counselor for Liberty, she created a session to help homeschool families create a ‘strategic plan’ for college. In this session, families will learn:

·         How to read and understand a degree completion plan for a desired major
·         How to transfer credits from community colleges without having ‘fall through’ courses
·         How to utilize CLEP tests (College Level Examination Program) to accelerate your degree and save money
·         How to prepare for standardized tests
·         How tests and GPA affect scholarships
·         How to scholarship search
·         What to avoid when transferring
·         Your options for dual enrollment

This session is designed to be hands on and question/answer format. The information presented can be used for any university.
No RSVP required
Open to any homeschooling family
This is a free event

Preliminary information about CHESS classes for 2015-2016 and how we can help your student prepare for college will be available for this event.
