Shakespeare Auditions
Auditions for the Fall Shakespeare Play
As usual, I am not announcing which play we’ll be doing until we start rehearsals, but I will say it will be a play by Shakespeare. If your interest in participating is conditional depending on it being or not being a certain play or a certain type of play, you can note that on your audition form.
Homeschooled teens and almost-teens are welcome to audition. I start thinking about casting well ahead of auditions, so it is good to let me know of your interest well in advance. If I do not yet know you, or do not know you in a performing context, it would be helpful for you to introduce yourself in an informal pre-audition conversation some days prior to your actual audition. Email me to arrange a time for this.
Three options for audition times: Thursday July 5, 1:00 p.m., Monday July 9, 6:30 p.m., or another time individually arranged with me. All auditions will be at my house, 506 West Main Street, Urbana.
Introduction to the play, announcement of the cast, and first rehearsals will be August 22, 24, and 31. This is a Wednesday and two Fridays. See the CHC calendar for more information. Thereafter rehearsals will be Wednesday afternoons until tech week. September rehearsals will be 1 - 3 p.m., later rehearsals will be longer, perhaps noon - 4 p.m.
Performances will be November 2 and 3. On November 7 we'll perform at Cunningham Children’s Home.
