Champaign Urbana Symphony Orchestra YOUTH CONCERT!
When: Tuesday, April 11th from 10 am - 11 am
Where: Krannert Center - go to the lobby and ask at the ticket table for tickets for CHC
Cost: $2 for kids, adults are chaperones and thus are FREE!
Who: These concerts are aimed at kids K - 8th grades, but ALL AGES are welcome.
Signup & payment Deadline: 10 pm on Sunday, April 2nd. This is a firm deadline as they need to print tickets and plan seating.
Parking: Plan to arrive early to find a parking spot. If you park in the Krannert garage, please park at a metered space as the parking fines on campus are hefty. I have had great luck entering the parking garage under Krannert from the NORTH (Illinois Street) and choosing the ramp to the LOWEST level. The spaces facing north (Illinois Street) are mostly metered. Get the MobileMeter parking app ahead of time!! (Sadly, the meters on campus no longer take coins)
For NON-CHC members: You won't be able to change this once your registration is submitted. Please be sure you are prepaired to pay through the paypal link upon submitting your registration. If you are a non CHC member you will not be able to log back in and pay later.
This is a lovely, interactive concert - a great way to introduce kids to Krannert and orchestras in general. In pre-covid days this was one of the highlights of our year and I'm so very glad it is back!!

Music comes in many styles from many places. The 2023 Youth Concerts of the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra will explore the wide range of musical styles, from Renaissance to Ragtime and Romantic to Rock n’ Roll. This fun and interactive program features Matthew Naughtin’s Birthday Variations, a clever piece that uses the familiar tune “Happy Birthday” in lots of different “costumes.” Students can participate in a “Musical Matching Game” by identifying each style they hear played by the orchestra.
