NHEA is once again proud to partner with Delta Athletics (formerly Athletic Republic) to deliver the spring PE program. This program focuses on developing physical literacy for your child - from basic skills (hand-eye coordination, catching, kicking, and throwing) to higher level sports development (training in basketball and volleyball), this program works with all ages and skill levels to aid in their physical development.
It will be at Coquille Park again, where we will have access to 2 gyms and an outdoor field.
WHO: Members of NHEA, Ages 5-18
WHEN: Wednesdays from 1-3pm: February 6, 2019 – May 8, 2019.
WHAT: Sports that include pickleball, spikeball, 9 square in the air, flag football, basketball, soccer/kicking activities, kickball, and possibly a ”NHEA Olympics” finale. Instruction by Coach Grant and his team at Delta Athletics (DeltaAthletics.com)
The program will have three tiers of education: Youth (ages 5-8), Sport FUNdamentals (Ages 8+), and Sports Challenge (Ages 8+):
Youth (ages 5-8)
This program focuses on developing fundamental physical literacy through fun sports and activities.
Sport FUNdamentals (ages 8+)
For those individuals interested in learning about sports and skills, but not yet ready for competition,our skills program focuses on the teaching the rules of the games, and developing athletic self confidence to play each sport, with only light focus on competition.
Sports Challenge (ages 8+)
For those individuals who are ready to compete, our sports competition program focuses on developing skills and sportsmanship through competitive play.
