I am a  part of CHEA Committees!  Now what do I do?

  1. Each committee member will receive the contact information (email & phone number) for the members of the CHEA Committee(s) you joined.
  2. Please email or text and stay in touch with your committee over the school year.

  3. Plan CHEA events with your committee (CHEA will give each committee a list of venues that will allow us to use their facility for CHEA events).

  4. Each member will need to be active, doing tasks inside your committee.  This will need to be done for each of the committee’s events, working together with the other committee members.  These shared committee tasks include, but are not limited to:

    • Deciding which 1 or 2 people from your committee will lead each event your committee has planned.  If there is one leader, you may also choose an assistant to attend an event.

    • Writing a forum message about the event

    • Reserving a date on the calendar for the event (email the calendar coordinator)

    • Sending all needed info to the calendar coordinator 3 weeks before the event using the Field Trip and Event Planning Form.  Please limit CHEA events to no more than 3 per week.

    • Check over the info on the calendar to make sure it's all accurate

    • Contacting the location of an event or board member assigned to the committee if the location has already given open-ended approval

    • Discussing plans for events with leader/co-leaders, assisting as needed

  5. Plan the minimum number of events between August 1st and May 31st. (Reference the List and Description of CHEA Committees below for details.)
