Camp Guidelines

  • Participants must treat all other players with respect
  • Foul, profane, vulgar language is prohibited
  • Fighting, hazing or other violent behavior is not acceptable
  • Arrive on time each day
  • Respect and listen to coaches with proper acknowledement

Failure to adhere to the guidelines above may result in suspension from camp without refund.

Statement of Purpose 

Lighthouse Home School Athletics (LHSA) is program of STEP (Southeast Texas Educational Partnership) a nonprofit, incorporated, Christian service organization, and is established to provide homeschool students the opportunity to compete in competitive sports in a Christian atmosphere.  LHSA, as an organization, and all of its activities, are committed to modeling and teaching Christian character traits, along with good sportsmanship.

LHSA Summer Camps are not exclusive to homeschool students and may include students from area schools. While we gladly hope to include all students, we do expect that they will abide by the code of conduct and purpose of the organization throughout the camp.

Permission and Release:  I give permission for my child to participate in this activity. I understand that there are risks associated with competitive sports. In the event he/she is injured, I waive and release all rights to any claim for damages against STEP or LHSA and its representatives. I further agree that any claim or dispute arising from or related to this agreement shall be settled by mediation and, if necessary, legally binding arbitration in accordance with the Rules of Procedure for Christian Conciliation of the Institute for Christian Conciliation, a division of Peacemaker® Ministries (complete text of the Rules is available at www.Peacemaker.net). Judgment upon an arbitration decision may be entered in any court otherwise having jurisdiction. The parties understand that these methods shall be the sole remedy for any controversy or claim arising out of this agreement and expressly waive their right to file a lawsuit in any civil court against one another for such disputes, except to enforce an arbitration decision.

Medical Release:

In the event my child suffers sudden illness, accident, or injury and neither parents nor guardians can be contacted, I give permission for any emergency treatment that is deemed necessary by a licensed physician.

I consent to obtaining, at my own expense, a physical evaluation by a qualified medical professional prior to season play and understand that if the evaluation presents issues that would pose a risk to my child's health, I will withdraw my child from play if recommended by  healthcare professional.
