Job Title: Instructor - Classes Program
Location: Bristol, CT
About Us: Redwoods Homeschool Community is a 501(c)3 nonprofit Christian ministry that serves homeschooling families through community connection and support. We are dedicated to offering high-quality instruction in a supportive and enriching environment through our Classes Program.
Our Classes Program: We aim to come alongside families in support and partnership by providing classes in special and advanced subjects to supplement what is done at home. Our Classes Program is for students ages 6-18.
Every class is a weekly class in a 14 week semester. Once-a-week classes are offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Classes typically have between 8-12 students.
Position Overview: We are currently seeking passionate and experienced instructors to join our Classes Program.
Instructors will teach a minimum of two classes total and may teach up to five classes on one day.
We are seeking instructors in the following subject areas: math, science, engineering, ELA, foreign language, music, dance, speech/debate, government/history, lifeskills, etc.
We also welcome applications from individuals with expertise and passion in additional subjects not listed. Classes are categorized as enrichment, elective, or core.
Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons for your classes
· Create a supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement and participation
· Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students
· Provide feedback and support to students to help them achieve academic success and personal growth
· Collaborate with program staff and parents to support student learning and development
· Provide class description and outline prior to the posting of the Classes Program schedule
· Provide basic lesson plans prior to the start of classes
· Be committed to classes and students
· Complete MinistrySafe Awareness Course
· Attend mandatory events: "Open House" and "Orientation Day"
Qualifications:
· Experience in education is preferred
· Previous teaching or tutoring experience in the subject area
· Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong organizational and time management abilities
· Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and abilities
· Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment
Additional Information:
· Applicants must be able to sign in agreement to our Statement of Faith
· Pass a background check and complete MinistrySafe Awareness Course upon hiring
· This is a part- time position
· Classes will be held in Bristol, we assign your schedule based on your availability
· Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications
