Our Story
Rooted in Faith. Growing in Community. Flourishing Together.
Redwoods Homeschool Community was born from a simple desire: to create a place where homeschooling families could connect, find support, and grow together. What began as a small gathering has blossomed, through faith, perseverance, and community, into a thriving network of families, co-ops, and programs.
The Journey
February 2016 – GAB is Created
Our story began with GAB Co-op, a gathering for homeschooling families to meet, learn, and build relationships. It became the foundation for everything that would follow.
September 2017 – A Vision Takes Root
When Heidi St. John opened the Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center in Washington, a seed was planted in our hearts for something similar in our own community.
2018–2019 – Seasons of Transition
After GAB’s temporary move and pause, we began searching for a new home and clearer direction. God was preparing the soil for what would soon grow.
December 2019 – Redwoods is Born
We launched Winter Clubs, our first Redwoods activity and the forerunner to today’s Tuesday Co-op.
March 2020 – A Pause and a Promise
Like many others, we paused during the pandemic, but the vision never stopped growing.
May 2021 – New Growth
GAB resumed as an official Redwoods program, bringing families back together in community and learning.
September 2021 – Tuesday Co-op Begins
Redwoods Tues Co-op launched, and our activities and community life began to flourish once again.
April 2023 – Nonprofit Status Granted
Redwoods Homeschool Community became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, affirming our commitment to faith, excellence, and service.
September 2024 – Classes Program Launches
Building on years of growth, we launched our Classes Program, a la carte academic classes designed to support homeschool families with high-quality, faith-driven education.
Looking Ahead
As Redwoods continues to grow, our roots remain the same, faith in God, commitment to excellence, and love for our community. Together, we’re cultivating something lasting: a place where families can connect, learn, and flourish for generations to come.
