Tues Co-op Parent Expectations
Parents shall have a parent job for every class period their student(s) is in class.
If you do not indicate your preferences we will assign your parent job(s) where needed. Thank you!

Parent Volunteer Jobs at Tuesday Co-op
Each class must have at least two adults at all times. Classes will be taught either by a Teacher or by a team of two Co-Teachers.
Class Teacher [one for every class]: Responsible for creating lesson plans and teaching, including preparing materials. Responsible for student discipline if necessary. (If interested in teaching a class please see the “Instructor Guidelines.”)
Co-Teacher [two for every class]: Responsible for equally sharing the teaching, planning, and lesson prep for the class. Coordinate with one another about who teaches which day or how you want to teach the class together. Responsible for student discipline if necessary. (If interested in co-teaching a class please see the "Instructor Guidelines.")
Helper [one or two for every class as needed]: Responsible to be an extra set of eyes and hands during class. Help students with classwork as needed. Students may leave the classroom to use the bathroom, one at a time, helper may monitor from the hallway. If student discipline gets to parent involvement the helper will take the student to his/her parent or will go ask the parent to come sit with their child. Will help with clean up (students may help as well): wipe tables and chairs, return tables and chairs neatly set up, sweep floor, empty trash, and ensure belongings are not left behind.
Jr. Teen Council Helper [one or two, depending on size]: Facilitate during class as needed: encourage the students in their tasks, direct them to remain focused, and ask them guided questions in their decision making. Study Hall/ Free Time Class Monitor: Responsible to be in the classroom to monitor the kids, engage with the kids, and help as needed. Students should refrain from using any devices.
Greeter [one for every hour]: Responsible to arrive 10 minutes before your assigned class hour begins and will stay for 10 minutes after your assigned class hour ends. Responsible to help sign in families as they arrive and check out families as they leave. May help with directing families to classes. Responsible to ensure children are not leaving the building without a parent. First hour greeter will set up the table, last hour greeter will put away the table.
Attendant [one for every hour]: Responsible to ensure all classes have at least two adults at all times. Will ask floaters to help fill in as needed. Will help keep the supply closet organized. May help with directing families to classes.
Floater [multiple, for every hour]: Responsible to fill in as helpers in a class or other parent jobs as needed.
Lunch Hour Monitor [multiple]: Parents are ultimately responsible for their children; however, monitors are a second set of eyes to ensure children are respectful of others and of the property. Two Monitors will be in the Big Room; two monitors will be outdoors.
This parent job will help set up the big room for lunch hour with 4-6 tables and 6 chairs at each table. Will monitor children in the big room and outdoors (when applicable). Will sweep the big room (and "spot mop" if needed) and ready the room for afternoon classes. Monitors may announce clean up time at 1:20.
Weather permitting, we can picnic outdoors and allow children to play outdoors on the lawn near the lower lot and in the lower lot near the lawn (away from vehicles). Children are to remain on the side of the building where the "Main Entrance" is located and are not to go into the woods. The playground is for children ages 6 and under with parent supervision.
Monitors may get out appropriate gym equipment and ensure children return the equipment to the monitor. Monitors, please keep the gym equipment in the closet organized.
Clean Up [three to four assigned in the last hour]: Help to leave the building cleaner than we found it. Responsible to sweep hallway, entry area, and Big Room. Check bathrooms, check classrooms (each class is responsible to clean their classroom), check parking lot and lawn, take out garbage, and ensure belongings are not left behind.
Nursery [two to three for every hour]: Care for our littlest ones. Sing, play, pretend, read books, etc. Leave the nursery cleaner than you found it. Wipe/clean tables, chairs, toys, and other surfaces. Sweep or vacuum as needed. Take out the garbage.
