Lisa Boettcher To All Instructors
I love Math! I’ve lived in Chesapeake all my life and graduated from Western Branch High School (WBHS). I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Virginia Wesleyan College (summa cum laude) and received the Outstanding Upper-Level Mathematics and Computer Science award during my junior and senior years. Beginning as a summer intern, I worked as a computer programmer/senior software engineer at Tidewater Consultants, Inc./ManTech for 19 years, before completing the Career-Switcher program at Old Dominion University (ODU) in 2004. I also earned my Master of Science in Education degree from ODU in 2009. Recently, I retired from Chesapeake Public Schools after 21 years of teaching math at WBHS including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics and AP Statistics. I am licensed to teach mathematics K-12 and computer science.
I married my high school sweetheart nearly 40 years ago and we have two grown sons. My husband and I are very involved at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Portsmouth. I am the Children’s Ministries coordinator and help with the audio-visual equipment for the church services. I teach Children’s Church and lead Vacation Bible School. In addition to church and school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
