FAQs

  • Is Bridge the Gap a Christian organization? Yes, our instructors are professing believers adhering to a Statement of Faith aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message. While our program reflects a Christian worldview, no exclusively religious instruction will be given and we welcome students of all backgrounds. 

  • Who can participate? We serve students in grades 1–12, whether homeschooled, in public school, or private school. Bridge the Gap Learning Center, Inc. is not a school; all students must be enrolled in a school recognized by the state of North Carolina. 

  • Is this a drop-off program? Students may be dropped off for tutoring and classes. Parents are required to attend periodic training and progress meetings and may volunteer to enhance their involvement.

  • Can you accommodate behavioral challenges? We are not a behavioral therapy center but strive to accommodate individual needs within an educational setting. We cannot support aggressive or injurious behaviors due to staffing limitations.

  • What are the safety measures? All staff and volunteers undergo background checks. Classes are supervised by at least two adults or monitored by security cameras. Students are supervised at all times.

  • Are classes held only at Arlington Baptist Church? Most classes occur at Arlington, but some, may take place at off-site locations, like farms or businesses to support specific skills.

  • What are the instructor qualifications? Instructors are selected for their expertise and teaching ability. They hold relevant education, training, or experience, with credentials available upon request.

  • What are the operating hours? Interventions and classes run Monday–Thursday, with field trips offered on Fridays. Evening parent/educator training may occur occasionally, scheduled in coordination with the church.
