Bridge the Gap is excited to partner with TCI Works, an organization that is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people who have disabilities or disadvantages through work assessment, job training and job placement. TCI Work's Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program aims to serve students with learning, intellectual, and developmental disabilities by providing employment-based instructional services. The Pre-ETS program is completely FREE of charge!
- The program serves students with a disability documented through an IEP (Individualized Educational Plan), 504 Plan, or a psychological evaluation.
- Pre-ETS is designed to prepare high school students for the exciting life and work-place expectations outside of high school.
- TCI staff members work hand in hand with the NC Division of Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD) and the local school systems (public, private, charter and homeschool programs) to achieve an amazing goal!
- A trained Pre-ETS instructor will work directly with your student to:
- Identify their career interest
- Explore new industries, local careers, and job opportunities
- Teach appropriate work behaviors and attitude skills
- Accompany students on job shadowing to enhance their lives while in high school and postsecondary planning
- Instruction is tailored to each student's unique needs, interest, and goals.
Students who wish to enroll in Pre-ETS will need to provide one of the following forms of verification, stating they have been diagnosed with a disability: a medical report, a psychological evaluation, a letter from a doctor or medical provider, or a previous IEP if the student was enrolled in public school at some point during their academic career.
