Description:
This is a specialized support class that builds confidence and competence in foundational math skills using MathUSee. The MathUSee curriculum helps students learn math concepts and succeed at their own pace. This unique math curriculum integrates a distinctive set of manipulatives with strategies presented by the instructor, videos, textbooks, and digital resources. The focus of this class is to strengthen math foundations, abilities, and confidence in order to support students’ educational and vocational goals. By participating with a small group of peers on a similar math skill level, teens will build social and educational connections while conquering math challenges.
Students will practice their math skills inside and outside the classrooms. Concepts are introduced weekly by the instructor and daily practice assignments provide follow up during the week. Students are expected to practice math skills at home and complete daily homework to the best of their ability. At home resources and online instructor access will be available to ensure support and success.
Sessions are 60 minutes long. Complimentary access to MindWorks before and/or after each session is included.
