Lending Library
Canalside Library is a lending library with a very specific purpose: to support and encourage
homeschooling families by lending curricula.
Loans will be for variable periods of time depending on the need of the family, and year-long
programs can be borrowed for a full school year. I also encourage you to request to borrow
items for a week at a time. Take that time to look it over and consider if it will suit your needs for the upcoming year.
In this early phase of operation, I will restrict access to active members of HSA or people I
personally know.
To browse the collection, check out the website and catalog located at
https://www.librarycat.org/lib/bre423/
To use the library, you need an account which must be set up by me, Brenda Baker. To request an account:
- Select any item in the catalog.
- Click the “Need an Account?” button.
- Complete the simple form, adding your phone number in the comment section.
- Click “Submit”.
This will send an email to me which will prompt me to create a patron ID for you.
I will email you your patron ID number and you will be able to sign into the library and
place a hold on any item.
I will receive an email and check the item out for you.
Since the library is located in my home, I will need to make arrangements with you to deliver (or
for you to pick up) the materials. I live in Spencerport, but I work in the city and often travel to Farmington one day per week, so I am flexible!
Please reach out if you have questions about what is available. My email address is
