Training for Legislator Visits Inspiring Speakers | Capitol Prayer Walk
Saturday, February 12, 2022
Hosted by Family Protection Ministries and CHEA of California. Space is limited. Registration available soon. No on-site registration.
Join us in Sacramento to be trained and equipped to build relationships with our state legislators!
We as private homeschoolers need to maintain a visible presence and positive impression of private Christian home education to our state legislators. Your contacts with your state legislators allow them the opportunity to meet with actual homeschool families.
Building relationships with your legislators helps you, the homeschooling families, and us, FPM, when we defend your private homeschooling freedoms against bills that aim to regulate it in the California Legislature.
We will give you the tools so that you can build relationships with our California state legislators and their staff and give them information about private home education in a friendly, professional manner. In addition to training, you’ll hear inspiring messages from those who work with the legislature at the Capitol. We also plan to do a prayer walk around the Capitol building.
Capitol Day has been hosted by FPM in Sacramento at the beginning of each new two-year legislative session for the past three decades, and every year since 2019. However, now that the capitol has been closed to the general public since early 2020, we have adapted our conference for the present circumstances and are excited to announce Homeschool Freedom Day (HFD) where you will be trained to build relationships with your legislators from your own home. Click here to read about FPM and CHEA’s 2021 Virtual Capitol Day.
Homeschool Freedom Day includes:
- Topics focused on getting involved in preserving your private homeschool freedoms
- Inspiring speakers with insights on the inner workings of the Capitol and the importance of your involvement
- Valuable training sessions to prepare you to reach out to your legislators from your own home, such as
- Finding your legislators
- Calling, writing a letter, or meeting with your legislators
- Communicating issues to your legislators
- Building relationships with your legislators
- Learning about the California Legislature and legislative process
- A catered lunch
- A prayer walk around the Capitol building
Plan to join us and please share this with your private homeschool group members and friends.
