Math Circle
North County Math Circle for students working comfortably at 5th grade or higher math. This is appropriate for students who have a solid mastery of elementary mathematics (arithmetic). This Math Circle is sponsored by CFS Poway. This math circle is open to any homeschooled student (CFS/non-CFS).
North County Math Circle is NOT geared towards gifted, mathy kids who are preparing for math competitions. This Math Circle is for students of all math abilities and all ages. Our goal is to help students build patience and skills in collaborative problem solving while tackling interesting math problems. Math is a living and dynamic study with real-life applications as well as interesting puzzles. This is a non-competitive Math Circle with a goal of engaging students to explore math through inquiry, discovery, and creativity. Students will discover that problem solving is not always a linear process and that the journey is, in itself, a valuable learning experience.
