Student Responsibilities

Being part of Discovery Days means respecting your teachers, classmates, and the space we share. The following responsibilities help ensure a positive, safe, and fun learning environment:

  • Preparedness
    • Be on time and ready to learn.
    • Bring all required materials and completed assignments to each class.

  • Classroom Conduct
    • Participate willingly and respectfully.
    • Disruptions such as whispering, texting, cell phone use, or talking out of turn are not permitted.
    • Disrespectful or inappropriate words, gestures, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated and may jeopardize your participation.
    • Cell phones must be silenced and kept away during class sessions.

  • Attendance
    • Co-op participation requires consistent attendance.
    • Students must be signed out with Hall Monitor if not attending a class session.

  • Respect for Property
    • Use only designated areas of the church and respect all property.
    • Turn off lights in empty rooms and close outside doors.
    • Do not bring toys, skateboards, scooters, laser pointers, pocket knives, or weapons.

  • Dress Code
    • Wear clothing that is modest and appropriate.
    • Clothing with profanity, offensive graphics, or explicit advertisements is not permitted.

  • Classroom & Lunch Responsibilities
    • Stay in your assigned class unless given permission by a teacher or assistant.
    • At the end of each class, help clean up and return tables/chairs.
    • During lunch, clean up your own mess and return chairs to their proper place.
    • Classrooms are off limits during lunch. Stay behind sign in parking lot.

  • Community Care
    • Encourage and support one another in a gracious and loving manner.
    • Name-calling, destructive comments, or teasing (even in jest) will not be tolerated.

  • Consequences
    • Any student not honoring these standards for two weeks in a row will be removed from class for one week. If the behavior continues upon return, the student will be removed from the class for the remainder of the semester.
