Conflict Resolution & Discipline Policy

At Discovery Days, we strive to reflect the love and virtues of Christ in our words and actions. Inevitably, conflicts or misunderstandings may arise, and when they do, we want to handle them with grace, fairness, and accountability.

• Conflict Resolution
  • Parents should first attempt to resolve issues on their own.
  • If resolution cannot be reached, the matter should be brought to the Leadership Team for assistance.
  • Parents remain responsible for their children’s behavior at all times.
    
    
• Encouraging One Another
  • All participants—parents, teachers, and students—are encouraged to kindly remind one another of our standards when needed.
    
    
• Discipline Process for Students
  1. First Offense – Teacher/helper gives the student a verbal warning.
  2. Second Offense – Student is taken to their parent, who addresses the situation with their child privately.
  3. Third Offense – Teacher notifies the Leadership Team. The situation is discussed with parents and the student, who has an opportunity to explain.
  4. Fourth Offense – Teacher again notifies Leadership Team. Student may not return to that class the next Discovery Day.
  5. Suspension – If behavior does not improve, the Leadership Team may suspend the student until proper apology and restitution are made.
  6. Expulsion – If all interventions fail, the student will be expelled for the remainder of the semester. Additional restitution may be required, such as written apology, temporary restriction from activities, or loss of family participation.
     
     
• Fees
  • If suspension or expulsion occurs, no refunds will be granted. All fees are non-refundable.

Our prayer is that these steps rarely be needed, and that grace, forgiveness, and restoration will always guide us.
