Parent Responsiblities
Parents are the backbone of Discovery Days. Your participation, responsibility,
and cooperation help the co-op run smoothly for all families.
- Preparation
- Parents must read course descriptions and purchase all necessary books, supplies, and other specified items before classes begin.
- Volunteering
- By registering your children, you agree to volunteer at co-op for the entire school year.
- Parents are generally assigned one free session each co-op day.
- During this session, the Mom’s Group Room is available for fellowship and coffee.
- If a substitute is needed in a class, parents with a free session may be asked to help.
- Respect for Property
- Please respect church property and use only designated areas.
- Label personal belongings and avoid bringing valuables. The church and co-op are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
- Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior and for any damages or injuries caused by their children.
- Clean-Up
- Clean up after your own lunch messes and push in chairs.
- Help monitor and maintain orderly use of hallways, classrooms, and common areas.
- Rule Enforcement
- All parents share responsibility for enforcing co-op rules.
- Correct any child in a loving and respectful manner.
- Repeated rule violations by any family member may result in loss of co-op participation. The Leadership Team reserves the right to deny or revoke participation.
- Playground Guidelines
- Parents are responsible for their children on the playground during lunch and recess.
- Animals behind the playground are off limits.
- End of Day
- Co-op ends at 1:15 p.m. and all buildings must be cleared at that time.
- Families may remain on the playground, but restrooms are closed and families must clean up after themselves.
