Support Roles

Support roles include any responsibilities outside the typical teacher and assistant positions. Some support roles require a time commitment similar to teaching, while others require less time.

Study Hall Monitor – Supervises a designated study hall room to ensure students remain quiet and focused. Monitors must remain in the room for the entire session but may work on their own tasks as long as they do not disrupt students.

Lunch Monitor – Supervises high school students during lunch, encourages appropriate behavior, and ensures students clean up after themselves. Students should remain in the lunch area and not wander the halls.

Cleanup Team – Uses an assigned session to clean designated areas of the facility according to the guidelines provided by the Housekeeping Administrator.

Housekeeping Administrator – Identifies cleaning needs, develops cleanup assignments, and oversees implementation. This role requires familiarity with the building and the church's expectations for facility care.

Communication Coordinator – Maintains current communication channels for enrolled families and distributes important announcements and updates to participants.

Financial Administrator – Tracks fees collected each semester, manages teacher reimbursements, and coordinates payments to outside instructors providing specialized classes.

Door Monitor – Remains at the designated entrance after first session to admit late-arriving families. For security purposes, all exterior doors remain locked during Discovery Days, and the main entrance is the only point of entry. This role requires the parent to be present at the door but allows time to work on personal tasks. Therefore, it is considered a half-assistant position.

Substitute (Session-Specific) – Checks in with the Substitute Coordinator at the beginning of the assigned session and remains available to assist where needed. If coverage is not required on a particular day, the substitute may use the session as free time.

Substitute Coordinator – Coordinates coverage when teachers or assistants are absent. This role assigns substitutes, communicates lesson plans as needed, and works to ensure classes continue with minimal disruption.
