Absence Policy:
If you know you’ll be absent, please arrange a substitute as soon as possible—this helps our co-op run smoothly and fairly for everyone.
Teachers:
First, check with your assistant—they should teach the class in your absence.
The substitute will then step in as the assistant.
Finding a Sub:
Contact at least three people from the substitute list.
If you can’t find anyone after three tries, contact Lerin Berwick for help.
Once you’ve confirmed a sub (and coordinated with your assistant if you're a teacher), let Lerin Berwick know.
Emergencies:
If something comes up last-minute (like waking up to a sick child), notify Lerin Berwick right away.
Important Notes:
Missing co-op without arranging a sub or having three unexcused absences (non-emergency or vacation) may put your family’s spot at risk.
If you must leave during co-op for an emergency, you may ask another parent to be responsible for your children—just inform a Leadership Team member and make sure your children know who to check in with.
If you're listed as a sub and consistently don’t respond to sub requests, this also puts your family’s spot in jeopardy.
