Eagles Recreational Volleyball Team

Volleyball Practices:

Volleyball Practice will be held once or twice a week and starts in August. The dates and times will be on the ECCHO calendar.
Team members are expected to arrive at practices at least 5 minutes early
All team members are expected to wear proper workout clothes and workout shoes that follow the ECCHO Dress Code
Hair should be pulled away from the face, in a ponytail if possible
Stud earrings are permitted; no other jewelry
Team members are responsible for bringing all necessary equipment (knee pads, volleyball, water, sweat towels, etc.).
Team members will wait to leave until dismissed by the coach.
Cell phone use is not permitted during practice.
Gum chewing and snacking are not permitted at practice. Please eat before arrival.

Tryouts:

Lady Eagles Volleyball Tryout dates and times will be posted on the ECCHO calendar. Interested parties should sign up and complete the interest form.

Please pick up your student-athlete promptly at 11:30 each day. Candidates are expected to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start time and will remain until dismissed.
Candidates will wear head-to-toe volleyball attire that adheres to the ECCHO dress code
Candidates will bring water, sweat towel, and a high school regulation volleyball
Hair should be pulled away from the face, in a ponytail if possible
No jewelry will be permitted at tryouts

Candidates will be evaluated on both days, and scoring will be based on the following:

How do they work as a team member
Are they coachable?
Attitude, friendliness, respectfulness. Will they represent ECCHO well?
Appearance – come prepared in proper attire, clean, well-cared-for clothing
How do they handle the ball on the court
Overall spirit and enthusiasm

Uniform:

The uniform will include a shirt (provided by the YMCA) and black shorts. Shorts will be ECCHO approved.
All uniforms must meet the requirements of the ECCHO dress code. If a uniform becomes unacceptable or out of the dress code, alterations must be made, or a new uniform must be purchased.
Stud earrings are allowed; other jewelry, including necklaces, larger earrings, and rings, is not allowed.

Games:

The Lady Eagles Volleyball team will play through the Waxahachie YMCA for the fall 2025. Games will be on Friday Nights.

Parent Responsibilities:

Parents are required to help the team in several ways. During games, the Lady Eagles may need two line judges, a scorekeeper, a libero tracker, and a scoreboard operator. Parents will be asked to help with these roles during games.

Fees:

Fees for the Fall 2025 season are $92 per player.
This fee covers events and activities, coaching fees, t-shirts, and facility rentals. Fees are based on a 10-person squad. Fees are subject to change.

Other Fees Parents are Responsible For:

YMCA fee - approximately $115 for non-YMCA members; shoes, knee pads, uniform shorts

Violations:

The Eagles Volleyball Team will follow the ECCHO disciplinary policy, a three-strike rule. Team members are expected to follow ECCHO's general code of conduct and dress code. If there is an extenuating issue with a team member's behavior, attendance, or other relevant concerns, the parents of the team member will be asked to meet immediately with the coach, athletics director, team member, and, in some circumstances, the ECCHO board.
*In extreme cases, a team member may be asked to step away from Lady Eagles Volleyball.
