ECCHO Background Check Policy
ECCHO Background Check Policy - in effect as of 5-12-2020
The protection of our children is of utmost importance to our group, therefore Ellis County Christian Homeschool Organization (ECCHO) requires a Criminal Background Check of all adult members working closely with children. This includes all adult (18 and older) members of the family who will participate in any of ECCHO's many opportunities (classes, field trips, parties, etc.). These forms are to be submitted upon joining and resubmitted every two years as a member. Once a background check is turned in to the appropriate ECCHO Board Member, the information will be processed, the paper form stored in a secure location for approximately two years, then destroyed. We respect your privacy and aim to keep the information confidential. In the event a background check returns with flags, the ECCHO Board reserves the right to decline membership.
We ask that members consider who their emergency contact will be, and include them in the family background checks in the event they attend ECCHO events, pick up or drop off students, etc. Please understand that persons not background checked will not be allowed to attend ECCHO events or be on campus.
***Background Check Policy Amendment voted in by the ECCHO Board of Directors 7-7-2020
Background checks must be submitted & cleared before family membership will be approved.
