You'll learn about medieval and fantasy armor and foamsmith your own helmet (head), breastplate and plackart (chest and belly), pauldron (shoulders), couter (elbow), vambrace (forearms), gauntlets (gloves), cuisses (thighs), greaves (calves), sabatons (feet), boffer (padded sword), and a few hand weapons.

Essential construction materials will be provided but students may wish to bring in embellishments.

This is not a boffering class, but the rules of boffering and small unit tactics will be discussed.

$35.00 supplies fee covers all materials necessary for constructing a suit of armor.

Students should have sufficient fine motor control to safely handle hobby knives, scissors, and hot glue guns.

Students may wish to spend some time at home working on finishing up projects not completed in class.

Minimum Student Date: Fri 29 Dec 2023 — This course will be cancelled if the minimum number of students have not registered by Dec 29.

Registration Deadline: Fri 18 Jan 2024 — Registrations will be accepted through Jan 18, if space is available. Tuition will be due immediately upon registration. A full week prior to the first day of class is requested in order to have time to purchase all of the necessary supplies in bulk.
